Mother-Tongue as a Medium of Instruction
Abstract
Mother-tongue as a medium of instruction plays a key role in maintaining or boosting up the academic achievement, creativity along with shaping of the personality. It is considered as a basic requirement for boosting up the inherent qualities of the child and the required skills too up to a large extent. Where a child gets his education in a language with which he is familiar since his birth. He gets more and in-depth insight of the fact being taught to him in the class room by his teachers. More interaction with the teacher and peer group takes place if the medium of instruction is mother tongue. Our psychologists, educationists and national policy makers all advocated for mother tongue as a medium of instruction. Through this paper, most of the find as received, they advocated for the use of the mother tongue as a medium of instruction in primary classes whether the schools are private or government.
